Hola mundo bloggero!

I could live in Florence, I fell in love with it.
3. Ah Roma!

Tres birthday Cakes and lots of wine can do that to you…

Go shorty is my birthday!! ;-)

Protecting your heart (?)
You know how when you meet somebody new you are so curious about this person that you do everything you can to find out all possible information? What I’m about to tell you can only be between you and me, of course you are the internet so what’s the point? But anyways here it goes… I go and check out his sign! Is one of those things I’ve done ever since I can remember, I find out the guy’s sign and I look up the description online. Occasionally, ok maybe every other day when I check my horoscope I check his, I try to adapt it to what’s happening between us, I do the compatibility sign thing, I know pathetic ha? I know it is but you know what to me it isn’t I must confess, these sorts of stuff is what reminds me I’m not so old after all, if I did it back when I was 15 and I still do it on the verge of 30 that means I’m not growing up so fast (bear with me this turning 30 is taking a toll on me)
I guess my reasoning for it is not that I believe so much in the horoscopes or astrology, is true that all descriptions of Libra can define me pretty well but the truth is that maybe it means I’m interested and I want to know more. Sometimes it takes a lot of time for a guy to open up to you, if he ever really does entirely. It’s crazy that some of us can be physical with another person and not let the other one see who we truly are. You are practically one when your bodies are naked against each other, yet you know nothing about one another.
How much you can truly protect your heart from catching feelings in situations like this? You talk to a person and instantly things turn sexual, before anybody gets the wrong idea you both make sure to let the other person know that neither of you is looking to get involve in a relationship or anything serious for that matter, so that you are clear this (whatever it is that you are doing) has no where to go other than sex. Then you embark in this affair (to call it something); and as long as the sex is great and no “real life” facts get into it, everything will be running smoothly. The moment you start wanting more you put your mental and heart heath at risk.
I say don’t go online checking their horoscope, don’t ask too many questions, stop them when they try to tell you how much they hate their job or their goals in life; because before you know it you’ll start realizing that this person is a human being with a past just like you, with issues, interesting, smart and a perfect candidate a least for a shot at something real. Getting to know each other would just screw everything up...
And I just have a few questions left, what’s everything? What’s it to screw up? There was nothing in the first place was there? It’s all this “gray area” where no black or white are defined; and what’s the point of that, really? No drama. Where’s the fun in that?
As much as I say I want nothing serious, and I’m not ready for a relationship, the truth is I’m always curious and I can’t help it, so my hearth is permanently in danger and masochist or not, I admit, I like it.

Bumping into 'people'
I co-blogger just wrote to me how much she loved about New York the fact that you meet people at the most unexpected places... New York really is a place where you meet the must unexpected people at the most unexpected places. Check this out, just last week my friend Grego bumped into none the less Mr. Rafael Nadal! In the theater! Watching Phantom of the Opera! Like every other tourist or Broadway lover New Yorker (except that he is Español). I mean for Christ sake, my friend bumped into him, what? Like five days after this guy had won the gold medal at the Olympics! Grego said he was so nice and friendly and had no problem taking a picture with him or letting him put his arm around for the picture.
I know he's human and so am I, but this guy is number one ranked in the tennis world, he won the longest Wimbledon match in history just a few months back against another cutie/awsome Roger Federer, and as far as I am concerned he deserves the excitement, some noise and a post on this blog.
Here is the proof that needs to be framed, Grego, I hate you just ‘cause it wasn’t me how bumped into him!

Remember to introduce yourself
Me: I am not good at this!
La Peque: Why?
Me: I managed to make the guy come sit right next to me, have perfectly funny, smart, witty conversation, I give him my name and I get his, for Christ sake I find out he’s a Civil Engineer and yet I do not give him my number! Arrrrgh!
La Peque: What, why??
Me: I don’t know!! I had my business card right in front of me, on first zipper of my bag that was seating right on top of my lap, am I brained damaged or what?
La Peque: Definitely, and that’s it! Tomorrow you stay late at work, so that you can catch the exact same bus, you are giving this guy your number I don’t care if you have to stay late every night until you see him again, I don’t want to hear this BS again!!!
Me: eeerrr OK totally!
The story of how I met this guy is actually kind of funny, we had bumped into each other twice on the bus home, the thing is that both times I had done the same thing to him, he was seating on the aisle seat and window one was empty, I had made him stand up so that I could get the window seat. See, we both know a big secret that short people don’t find as important as we do; on that row of seats, there is more leg room than everywhere else on the bus. So the second time around I did the same thing he smiled at me, I was kind of embarrassed by this so I said:
Me: Sorry, more leg room…
Him: I’m not smiling because of that, is just that this is the second time around you’ve done this to me
Me: really!?
Him: I remember you (he blushed) and I know is because you are so tall…
I was flattered, he was so cute, and the whole way home we went talking none stop, a funny very light conversation, where none of us even introduced each other, God shouldn’t I know this as a rule!? Introduce yourself, introduce yourself!
So I saw him again yesterday and as you can see, I managed to get his name, not his number nor give him mine, but I will, I promise! Even if it takes me another month to see his cute face on the bus again, because I love you Peque but there is no way I’m staying late at work for a guy!! (ok maybe one or two days, just to see, hihi ;-)
PS: Feeling better already, some things just hit me harder than I would like but, pa’lante! Thank you Kish!

So this is what it feels like...
This is what a divorce must feel like, it drags and when you think the water has calmed down, some new drama arouses something new to fight about.
I was watching “Under the Tuscan Sun” the other day and I couldn’t help relating to the main character. Not in the way that she suddenly founds out that her beloved husband didn’t love her anymore and out of the blue she had to move out of their house and start a new life when she though she was perfectly happy; I relate to the after part. Our relationship deteriorated with time, and it became impossible for the both of us to survive the way things were going. None of us got in it thinking that we would fail, I though that was the one that would stick, you know, forever. I gave everything I had in me to make it work, and it didn’t.
Now it’s been more than a year since we separated, I moved out, and we kind of went our ways. At the beginning it was very hard to deal with the fact and we kept seeing each other. We got into an undefined relationship that was neither here nor there and finally ended up hurting us even more. The separation has taken a toll on the both us I guess, somewhat ugly things about each other have been unveiled, and the person I though loved me the most besides my mother and sisters all of the sudden seems so strangely unfamiliar, doing things almost purposely to hurt me yet claiming still all of this love for me. It just makes no sense what so ever all of the mixed feelings your get, you just don’t understand how we are the same two people that laid eyes on each other one day and said “I love you”.
In the movie the best friend of the main character tells her “I am afraid you might be in danger of never recovering”… I feel as though I might be in danger as well, and that scares me. I could not peel myself from bed all day yesterday, I felt as though my whole body weigh a ton, so heavy with sadness, and the realization once again that we had screwed this one so badly, that I am alone in a foreign country, that I can not go back to my country crying like a little girl to my mother’s arms and with so little to show for the time I’ve been here. I though this might just be how a divorce feels like… One more fight with this person and I my heart will not be able to heal ever.
Also in the movie, the main character finds herself buying a villa in Tuscany, “standing at a crossroad” and making a decision of starting a new life there. Granted I don’t have the money to buy anything close to a hole in the wall anywhere! But silly little dreamer in me hopes that my upcoming trip to Europe brings me a new opportunity. Part of me kind of wants to start fresh somewhere else, maybe get a job in a foreign country, face another language barrier, and become part of a new culture… I guess it is time for me to make a life changing decision, any suggestions?

Good Luck Michael!

"Long time ago"
I guess around my 18th birthday, I developed a huge crush on this guy. He is my senior, three to four years maybe; we both went to the same school. Gorgeous eyes, soft hair, so handsome, funny and not necessarily charming because of his childish sense of humor but I still thought he was awesome. At that time I scarcely allowed myself to dream about him, we would run into each other at parties, in school, we knew each other, but for some reason, even though we had interaction it was clear to me that he had no interest in me other than our acquaintance.
I hadn’t seen this guy in God knows how many years and of course the crush had faded long, long, long time ago. Last week when I found out he was coming to visit, the whole little teenage crush came rushing back from within.
We have seen each other since he came to visit, gone out (not the two of us alone but with friends) and guess what; he is even more gorgeous than I remember, his hair is longer and he’s as funny as always, but something has changed, the look in his eyes when he glances at me is different. Is that a hint of flirt I detect hidden under all of those jokes? I can’t explain it, he leans so close to me to say something, casually touches me, and I think maybe my newly renewed crush is making me see things where there are none, but I think he likes me! OMG I’m so afraid of posting this because it could just be the little girl inside me deceiving me and playing games with my mind…
(Day dreaming) How great would it be if after all this time he noticed that I am a woman with a womanly figure, not an ex-athlete with no boobs and no make up! How great would it be if he realizes how beautiful I’ve become, how smart, and independent I am. How great would it be for our lives to have always been meant to be united but just came together at the exact time we were ready for it!

Drastic Measure
You know that Sex and the City episode where Miranda bakes these brownies and is eating them by her self, and all of the sudden after throwing them away in the garbage she picks them up again and eats some more!? Come on you've seen it! Finally she decides to throw some soap on them so that she can definitely NOT eat them... Well if you didn’t happen to catch the episode this will give you an idea…
This was me, about half an hour ago, I know it’s terrible that I’m throwing food away with all the hungry children out there, and God knows at this point I am not one to be wasting anything! But guess what, I have no will power, and I have been working very hard on a promise I made my friend Crossty. I have been waking up really early in the mornings (ok, some mornings) to go workout, and guess what after almost two months, I have not seem great results but I am seeing some, for sure. I feel great, my clothes feel looser on me, for Pete’s sake I put on shorts yesterday and I actually felt hot! Not slutty really tight shorts that show half of your ass hot, but effortlessly, sexy on a summer beach night hot. I love it!
And about that picture, let me tell you something I threw away a perfectly great walk/run in the park yesterday morning by eating pepperoni pizza half an hour before bed, and not only that but I drank wine, beer and half of a mojito! I was bad, really bad! Trust me I am not obsessed with my weight, I’m not on a diet, or eating pieces of lettuce only, I have been just introducing some more veggies, fruit and less fatty foods onto my daily eating routine; added to not smoking, and reducing drinking to a couple of glasses of red wine socially, let me tell you it’s working, slowlly but surelly. And since those three left over slices of pizza were eventually gonna make it into my stomach after all of the making up work out I did today I decided to take drastic measure, so I threw them away and put soap on them!
I think I was confused, I though that by being able to say that I’m a far more secure women than I used to be, and that I am comfortable enough in my own skin to be able to show my naked body to a men, that alone made me a hot moma. The reality is that I wasn't secure I was confortable, I kind of stoped caring about my weight and the way I looked and somehow along the way that carelessness became 'conformismo' (I guess settlement is kind of the word) and somehow all of it finally transformed into selfesteem (if it is possible).
I’m still secure, and comfortable with my body, I know I am a beautiful woman, but I know I’ve looked better, I know I’ve felt better, and now that I'm starting to see results I can't help to think, that I was kidding myself. I want to feel that thing you feel when you go buy a new pair of jeans and they fit you perfect! I want to be able to go on my trip in octuber through Italy and Barcelona and be able to walk up stairs, walk all day, go out at night and not feel like a total mess the next morning. So for that I’m making some sacrifices, and at times taking drastic measures, so for that sue me!

La boca: very Funny!
(La mente): How about we go try right now baby!!

Happy pride a tod@s!!

La Bruja se esta casando...

From Latvia to reality
This may sound as a “the dog ate my homework” type of excuse, I cross my heart this is what happened: I had began writing a post about my Landlord going to Latvia, but forgot to save it, when the time came to reboot the computer system at my job, 6:00PM two day ago, all I had done and not saved got lost. Of course I got pissed and threw a quiet fit, I had gotten the memo and had ignored it like many other I receive concerning dress code, no jeans on Fridays and being removed from the summer Friday program if you get to the office late more than once during the summer period, gag, some people have too much time in their hands and too large a salary for sitting around checking a what time you got to the office and not how late you stayed…
Anyway no point in trying to recreate what I wrote, to make the log story short, my Landlord is going to Latvia, I was so ignorant that it must have showed cause he went along saying that Latvia was one of he Baltic States, Northern Europe, near Lithuania, just then a little light flashed in my brain when I remembered from the world cup that Lithuania has a soccer team, and as he mumbled something about someone his dating is from there and that’s the only reason he’s going, the little geak in me wanted to Google it. Where the heck was Latvia! And as it turns out I learned that Latvia is a very interesting place to visit, check it out! I think my landlord will like it, he’s not the tropical-in a hammock-under a coconut tree vacation type (beat’s me, don’t know why), but stop!...
It might interest you to know that this conversation happened not because I am particularly friends with my landlord but because my power keeps getting cut off! Something is wrong with the switch panel that I have waken up in the morning or gotten home at night and not have electricity! This guy is going on vacation for two weeks so he had to fix it before he left, so I started seeing more and more of him and that’s how I found out.
Oh well, good for him! He gets to go to a foreign country, with a date, for two weeks where as the rest of us get stay home and work, don’t cry for him, errr… NY.
Well wish you all a great weekend. Ciao tutti!

Universe, what are you trying to tell me?
I see his name everywhere! Is like the universe is trying to tell me something! What?
For Christ sake my new neighbor’s name is the same as his!
I mean let’s think for a second here:
1. I KNOW I’m not in love with this guy, I know he has absolutely nothing to offer me other than sex y ya ni eso!
2. He may be my type physically but absolutely NOT the type of men for me. No ambitions, no aspirations in life, lazy and comfortable with a job that does not even require the usage of his brain at all! At times rude, with no manners and absolutely not a guy you’d introduce to your mother and expect her to bless you!
3. I am so over him, what ever happened in the past was a crazy adventure I went along with, I enjoyed it and consciously let my self get too close, and obviously got some what a little bit hurt. I’m honest it was only just a little bit; I always knew that what ever was happening between us at that time could never go beyond a fling.
So I go back and ask, why?... A co-blogger once talked on her blog about Murphy’s law, God is she right in thinking it sucks! The moment you least expect it and are not thinking about someone, is exactly when you will run into him or when you will see something that will remind you of him. As far as I am concern, I see his name, I just do! On my new neighbor’s mail; on the credits of the movies that I never wait to read, yet as soon as I glance at them the first and only name I see is his; on some guy’s uniform from work; on doctor’s office door... On his face when unexpectedly I run into him on the building!
I think this what the universe is trying to tell me: DO NOT to get involve with a guy at work! (in my case a guy at the same building were I work) because I will never stop reminding you that you never should have! But I already know I never should have, so universe, Can you please make it stop?! :-(
For Christ sake my new neighbor’s name is the same as his!

En mi opinión, I loved it!
